My Top MAC Lipsticks

"JUST A GIRL WHO LOVES MAKE UP"

Lipstick is an essential to a girls make up collection. Now i must admit i have far too many in my own collection, as it seems to be the one product i purchase the most of. However you can never have too many right?

This is one of the best red/orange lipsticks i have ever purchased. Its a matte formula which also means its quite drying on the lips. Having said that it does have long lasting finish, and doesn't smudge easy. you can literally apply in the morning, eat and drink and still no need to re apply until later on in the day. Its a lovely bright pigmented lipstick.

Rebel is by far my favorite lipstick of the year so far. it was a Christmas present from my sister last year, and i must say its my 'go to' lipstick for nearly every occasion. Its really pigmented and it a satin formula, so it glides on the lips so easy, and almost looks silky, and again it lasts all day. Its a lovely dark plum colour and would be a great autumn/winter lipstick. So for those of you that are a lover of dark lips, this is definitely one for the handbag.

Nude! Everyone needs a nude for their collection! This is one of the top nude colour's i have found to date, i'm still on the hunt for another nude from MAC but this has to be one of my favorite so far. Its a creme sheen formula, so glides on the lips and looks lovely with a natural make up look.

Now this lipstick was a little bit of an impulse buy in an airport once when i was heading back from Spain. And i am so glad i purchased this lipstick, as it happens now to be my favourite pink lip! Again its another creme sheen formula, and looks amazing with a lovely light pink gloss over the top. I pair it with Posh it up - Plushglass from MAC also. It looks perfect with a smokey eye or dramatic make up.

So those are my current favourites, what are your top MAC lispsticks?

Rocky Road

“To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment.”

INGREDIENTS:

RECIPE:

  • Firstly melt your 150g of butter on a very low heat, along with your 4 tsp of syrup.
  • Break up your 350g of dark chocolate and put in with the melting butter and syrup.
  • Stir gently until it has completely melted and is now a smooth consistency.
  • Now while your mixture is on a low heat, place your 250g cookies in a clear bag and using a rolling pin, smash the cookies until mostly broken.
  • Stir in your cookies to the mixture on the heat.(if you don't like cookies, this would be the time to put your biscuit of choice in the mix)
  • Now slowly mix in your 150g of marshmallows until completely covered.
  • Once completely mixed and covered, using a tart or pie tray, place some grease proof paper to line the tray. This will make it easier to get out once set. Pour your mixture into the tray.
  • Now place in the refrigerator over night for the best results.
  • Once set, cut into rectangle slices, dust over some icing sugar and place on a plate.
and voila!

You have now created your own Rocky road.
I'm going to enjoy my slice with a nice cup of english tea!

If you decide to use this recipe, please hashtag #bestthingsrockyroad and send me your pictures on instagram & twitter, i would love to see your creations.

Moving House?

"Love doesn't make the world go 'round. Love is what makes the ride worthwhile. "

After a few months of looking we may have finally found the perfect house to make our home.
As it happens moving home is actually a long and stressful process, it is not as they say one of the happiest times of your life. (Unless you like all that paperwork and waiting stuff, me i have absolutely no patience and do not like any sort of paperwork!) However there is one positive note, purchasing all new house bits! If your anything like me, you love shopping!! And to me house shopping is the best kind of shopping!!
So without further a do, here are a few house purchases i have made recently for collection.
Mosaic design tumble & soap dispenser - B&M Home Bargains

Denby Halo Mugs - Boundary Mill

Bedside table lamps- B&M Home Bargains

Both above were purchased for myself & M as gifts.
Tea Towels - Boundary Mill
Yankee Candle numbers collections- Yankee Shop

If you have any tips for moving home or any moving stories of your own, please share in the comments. As i would love to read your advise, tips, and stories!

Chocolate Oreo Tart.

"Enjoy the little things in life. Because one day you will look back and realise they were the big things "

No Bake Recipe..

INGREDIENTS.

Firstly you will need to create your crust base for the tart.
  • Blend 330g of Oreo cookies into fine crumbs. (this would be the time to use a biscuit/cookie of your choice if your not an Oreo fan
  • Melt 110g of baking butter  in either a small pan on medium heat, or using a microwave. I use Stork baking butter in a microwave.
  • Mix together well your melted butter & blended cookies to a paste like consistency.
  • Line your tart tray using a spoon with the cookie & butter mixture, to form your base, which needs to be around a 1.5 cm thick.
  • Now put your tart base in the freezer to cool while you prepare your tart filling.
To create the tart filling.

  • Heat 200g of double cream over a medium heat, till hot but not boiling.
  • While heating the cream, break up your 200g of milk chocolate & 100g of dark chocolate into a bowl.
  • Pour the heated cream over the chocolate in the bowl & leave to stand for roughly about 1 minute. Once left standing for 1 minute, gently stir until it has created a thick chocolate ganache.
  • Take the base out of the freezer, and pour the chocolate ganache into the base.
  • Now put the chocolate tart into the refrigerator to set for about 2-3 hours for the best result.

Then enjoy with serving of your choice, I like to enjoy mine with a little cream. mmm!

Easter 2015.

The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched - they must be felt with the heart." - Hellen Kneller

This year has most definitely been the best Easter to date!

I am very grateful to be part of tight family unit and have such wonderful people in my life. And in particular my other half. 'M' this year was different from all the typical Easter bank holiday weekends, of stuffing your face of chocolate and watching TV.  This year I had the pleasure of staying in a wonderful place down South, in a huge Manor House with M' & his family.

The Ludbrook Manor House. I can honestly say it's one of the nicest places Iv ever had the pleasure of staying at. Two huge lounge rooms, indoor swimming pool, huge open kitchen, dining room, hot tub Jacuzzi, tennis court and acres of land in the country side.

It really was the perfect place to go, to make memories, to relax and forget about every day life.
And that is exactly what happened.
